THE MINISTER OF TRADE AND INDUSTRY VISITS AGCOM PRODUCER ORGANISATIONS

Summary

On 12th and 13th April, 2023, the Minister of Trade and Industry, Hon. Simplex Chithyola-Banda, M. P., visited Producer Organisations (POs) under Agricultural Commercialisation (AGCOM) Project in Lilongwe and Ntchisi districts in order to appreciate progress made by the POs.

THE MINISTER OF TRADE AND INDUSTRY VISITS AGCOM PRODUCER ORGANISATIONS

The Honourable Minister of Trade and Industry, Simplex Chithyola M.P. with support from the Agricultural Commercialisation project visited Producer Organisations under the AGCOM Project in Ntchisi, Bunda, Likuni and Kanengo.

 

The purpose of the visit was for the Honourable Minister to appreciate progress made by these respective Producer Organisations with regards to the implementation of the Project as well as to understand challenges and propose solution to the issues raised these cooperatives.

The products made by the POs include Coffee and Soya. The POs were encouraged to focus on value-addition.
