LAUNCH OF THE PILOT PROJECT OF THE COORDINATED BORDER MANAGEMENT; MWANZA BORDER; MALAWI

The Government of Malawi (GoM) through the Ministry of Trade and Industry (MoTI) and with technical and financial support from the International Finance Corporation (IFC) of the World Bank Group is implementing the Coordinated Border Management (CBM) Pilot Project at Mwanza. The launch is scheduled for Friday 23 June, 2023.

The Government of Malawi (GoM) through the Ministry of Trade and Industry (MoTI) and with technical and financial support from the International Finance Corporation (IFC) of the World Bank Group is implementing the Coordinated Border Management (CBM) Pilot Project at Mwanza. The launch is scheduled for Friday 23 June, 2023 at Mwanza Border.

The implementation of the CBM Pilot project follows a cabinet directive in 2013 to improve border operations by reducing the number of agencies at the border from 13 to 5 plus 1 while enhancing coordination among the remaining agencies at the border.
